Cartoons are a valid and helpful way for the developmental benefits of storytelling to reach a younger demographic.
Heads & Tales was my senior capstone project. For the assignment we had to choose a topic for which we would like to raise awareness. I presented the idea that cartoons can be very effective with developmental benefits of good storytelling in reaching a younger audience. The project was shaped throughout the course of the semester and my final deliverable was a streaming service format. Each program would include a full breakdown of the story and concept art for the viewer to explore. The branding for the service was bold, bubbly and saturated to resonate with my youthful target audience.
What is Capstone?
The goal of my college’s capstone project is to identify a topic of personal or societal significance and raise awareness around it through thoughtful design. The process begins with in-depth research from a variety of scholarly sources to build a strong foundation of understanding. Based on these insights, and with ongoing feedback through class critiques, students then develop a strong brand identity that effectively communicates the message they wish to convey to their defined target audience.
Streaming Website
I chose to develop a streaming platform specifically for cartoons as a way to deliver engaging, developmentally beneficial content to children in an accessible format. The platform is designed not only to entertain but also to educate, featuring detailed descriptions, character insights, and concept art for each cartoon. These additional resources aim to deepen engagement and support children's cognitive and emotional growth through storytelling and visual exploration. All assets used in the mockups were created by me, so this final project also acted as a great way to look back on a majority of the work I have created up until that point in my life.

Why Heads & Tales?
Growing up, I was always drawn to cartoons—particularly those with strong, engaging storytelling. This interest sparked my curiosity about the connection between storytelling and child development, and how animated content can serve as a powerful tool for delivering developmental benefits to children. Additionally, my passion for working in a bold, colorful, and graphic visual style made this project a natural and exciting fit for my creative strengths.
